Join Us

New Semester starts January 2024!
We encourage and welcome new members without audition. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings at 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Los Olivos Community Organization (LOCO) "the Grange" in Los Olivos at 2374 Alamo Pintado, Los Olivos. Please bring:
  • a music stand
  • a stand light if you need extra illumination, and
  • a towel to catch instrument fluids.
Embark on a musical journey with our wind ensemble! Whether you're craving the joy of live music creation, looking to reignite your passion for playing, or simply eager to savor a captivating performance, our group has it all!
Video: Click Play button to hear baritone saxophone player Dewey Roberts recount his experience joining SYV Wind Ensemble! Big thank you to Victor McConnell for his fantastic videography!
Discover the delight of laughter, continuous learning, and the strong camaraderie that flourishes in the realm of music making. The band eagerly opens its doors to new members, fostering an environment where everyone is welcomed.

Join us, and you might be surprised at the stories of wind ensemble members who, regardless of their musical background, rediscovered the sheer joy of creating music within our ensemble—some picking up an instrument for the first time since high school!

Our Wind Ensemble is always looking to recruit new members.
  • If you have ever played an instrument and would like to join, we welcome all skill levels.
  • If you are in need of an instrument, we have members who can help you find a used one.
  • If you have an old instrument that needs repair, we have members who can repair them.
  • If you would like to take lessons to feel more prepared before rehearsing with the group, we have music teachers.
Join us as we pave the way for new members to join our mission of creating free community music for our valley! Your involvement is crucial in spreading joy and harmony throughout our community. Let's make beautiful music together!
Contact Sid at (805) 688-8728 for more information.  If you are in need of an instrument so that you can join, please also free to contact us as we do possess some instrument loaners.  We are a fun group that loves playing music and enjoy socializing during our snack break time.  We would be thrilled to have you join us!
